Kumpulan Cromok : Latar Belakang dan Sejarah
Kumpulan Cromok merupakan sebuah kumpulan pemuzik dan penyanyi yang aktif di Malaysia. Kumpulan ini menyampaikan lagu-lagu Inggeris.
Sejarah
Cromok merupakan sebuah kumpulan rock metal Inggeris Malaysia yang ditubuhkan pada 1986 (pra-Cromok) sebagaikan memenuhi masa lapang dengan Nik Ramzee dan Che Adnan sebagai ahli awal dan apabila Miji dan Mat Puck menyertai mereka, mereka menjadi lebih serius lalu menamakan kumpulan mereka Cromok pada 1987[1]. Mereka adalah terdiri dari empat orang pelajar Malaysia yang menuntut di University of Wollongong di Sydney, Australia. Ahlinya terdiri daripada Sam (Vocalist+Bassist), Din (Vocalist+Guitarist), Karl (Guitarist) dan Miji (Drummer).
Sekembalinya ke tanahair, tiga dari mereka kecuali Din yang masih belum tamat pengajian telah menandatangani perjanjian dengan Valentine Records dan telah mengedarkan album Image of Purity yang dirakamkan sewaktu mereka masih berada di luar negara. Walaupun peminat muzik tanah air masih janggal dengan lahirnya sebuah band trash metal, album tersebut mendapat sambutan menggalakan sehingga terjual lebih 70,000 unit. Lagu 'Metallurgical' yang mengabungkan intro lagu tradisional 'Ulek Mayang' menjadi lagu paling menarik dan digilai peminat ketika itu.
Cromok kemudiannya menyertai EMI Record pada tahun 1993 bagi mengembangkan lagi sayap mereka. Album Forever In Time merupakan album paling berjaya Cromok dan terjual melebihi 100,000 unit. Album ini disifatkan lebih kepada metal kemelayuan.
Cromok seterusnya mengeluarkan album Yours Truly pada tahun 1996, Mean, Meaner, Meanest (1999), Re-release Image of Purity (2000), What's Left (2000), Deafening Silence (2002), Engrave in Eternity (kompilasi 2003), Untitled (2004), Untitled + raw (2005) dan The Great : Metal Manifest (2006).
Namun, pada tahun 2001 dengan rasminya Karl telah menarik diri dari menganggotai Cromok atas masalah kerjaya dan keluarga. Pengganti Karl pula bukan calang-calang gitaris tetapi Hillary Ang yang mempunyai pengalaman bertahun-tahun dalam muzik. Hillary pernah menyertai kumpulan SEARCH dan menjadi pemuzik undangan bagi artis ternama yang lain. Beliau sebenarnya telah bekerjasama dengan Cromok sejak album Mean, Meaner, Meanest tahun 1999. Hujung tahun 2006, Hillary kembali menyertai Kumpulan Search.
Kewujudan D'Cromok
Apabila Din menamatkan pengajian, atas sebab-sebab peribadi dia telah menubuhkan kumpulannya sendiri dan tidak menyertai Cromok. Kumpulannya bernama D'Cromok. Huruf 'D' pada pangkal perkataan 'D' sebenarnya bermaksud Din, ataupun din telah merakamkan album bertajuk VII Years VII Days bersama Valentine Records pada tahun 1995. Dalam Album itu, dia berganding dengan Muhammad Syahmi dari Muar,Johor.
Din bertugas sebagai jurutera di Petronas Kemaman, Terengganu kemudiannya jatuh sakit dan meninggal dunia akibat demam malaria. Maka berakhirlah riwayat Din dan D'CROMOK.

Sejarah

Think Twice', 'My Heart Will Go On', an Oscar for the 'Beauty and The Beast' title song. The French Canadian diva is a worldwide hit and she wed the man who discovered her.
Born the youngest of 14 children in rural Canada, Celine Dion came from an extremely musical family. Her parents were both musicians and ran a small club nearby, where the whole Dion family would gather at weekends to perform for the local community.
Dion began singing on stage at the age of five, and by the time she was twelve had written a song in French that would attract the attention of personal manager Rene Angelil, later to become her husband.
Angelil was so convinced of Dio's potential that he re-mortgaged his own house to fund her debut album. By 1983, she had become the first Canadian to receive a gold record in France and in 1984 she added to her already impressive list of achievements a performance for the late Pope John Paul II when he visited Quebec.
In 1988, Dion, already a superstar in her native Quebec, won the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin and shortly after cemented her international success by releasing the soundtrack to the Disney film Beauty and the Beast. This achievement earned her a number one single, an Oscar and a Grammy.
Her hit album The Colour of My Love and the single from it Think Twice topped their respective charts for five weeks running, the first time this had happened since the Beatles managed it in 1965.
Dion's most famous track My Heart Will Go On from the motion picture Titanic featured both on the album Titanic and Let's Talk About Love, both albums selling twenty-seven million copies each.
In 1999, she decided to take a break from show business to concentrate on her family, and baby Rene-Charles was born in 2001.
2002 saw the return of Celine Dion to the limelight with her album A New Day Has Come. The following year, the singer committed herself to performing five nights a week for the next three years in her own Las Vegas show. The 90-minute extravaganza was held at the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace in a 4,000-seat arena designed especially for her show.
Five consecutive years of sell-out shows followed and after the gig came to an end, she embarked on a year-long tour of the world in 2008-2009. Dion visited 25 countries across five continents and played for millions of fans.
After taking a backseat for a while, family called once more and the star with roots in Charlemagne, a small town near Montreal, started looking into increasing her brood. She became pregnant with her second child, but misfortune struck in 2009 when she suffered a miscarriage.
In February 2010 the star revealed that she had been trying to get pregnant through in vitro fertilisation (IVF). However, the effort did not yield immediate results as Dion underwent four different fertility treatments before a fifth round of IVF finally brought her the outcome she had been looking for.
Twins Eddy and Nelson, named after record producer and family friend Eddy Marnay and former South Africa president Nelson Mandela, were born in 2010. However, their arrival was not without tragedy for the songstress and her husband after they revealed that they had initially been preparing for three. She lost one baby in the early stages of her pregnancy when its heart stopped beating.
Six weeks after they were born, the twins were revealed to the world in December 2010 when they appeared on the cover of Hello! Canada with their mother. In February 2011, Dion and her family arrived in Las Vegas ahead of her return to the Colosseum in Caesars Palace, where a three-year residency for seventy shows a year, beginning on 15 March 2011, was due to begin.
Dion also achieved a new milestone when she performed at the 83rd Academy Awards, a record sixth time she was gracing the stage at the high profile event.

Sejarah Kumpulan Rock Malaysia
Sejarah kumpulan Rock Malaysia bermula secara meluas pada akhir tahun 1980-an. Ini adalah bahang dari budaya muzik rock barat yang mendorong kemunculan kumpulan rock tempatan. Kemunculan kumpulan rock tempatan menjadi semakin galak berkembang dengan terdapatnya pertandingan peringkat kebangsaan seperti Juara Rock, Festival Rock dan Battle Of The Bands 1 & 2.
Pertandingan kumpulan rock kebangsaan yang pertama diadakan di Malaysia adalah pertandingan Juara Rock 1983. Dalam pertandingan ini, ia telah dimenangi oleh D'Febians dan The Lefthanded. Berikutan dengan sambutan hangat oleh golongan pemuda, pada tahun berikutnya, ia diikuti dengan pertandingan Juara Rock 1984. Dalam pertandingan Juara Rock 1984, The Burnmarks menggondol tempat pertama, Hurricane dari Johor Bahru menggondol tempat kedua, dan tempat ketiga oleh kumpulan Gersang.
Berikut dengan sambutan hangat dari pertandingan Juara Rock ini turut menggalakkan pertandingan rock lain diadakan seperti Festival Rock 1984 yang diadakan di Dewan Jubli Intan, Johor Bahru. Gagasan Juara-Juara Rock ini secara langsung telah menggalakkan semakin banyak kumpulan pemuzik rock ditubuhkan. Bidang muzik rock di Malaysia semakin hebat dan memuncak dengan kehadiran Gagasan Battle Of The Bands 1 & 2 (1986-1987).
Perkembangan muzik rock yang semakin hebat mencetuskan beberapa siri pertandingan rock seperti Clash Of The Bands, War Rock 1 hingga 4, Gagasan Batu-Batu Perjuangan, Gagasan Hikayat Rok (yang di anjur oleh papa Ali (Ali Bakar ')), Juara Kumpulan Muzik Tenggara 88, Juara Rock Galactica, dan Pesta Hiburan Kingsway. Bagaimanapun imej rock tercalar dengan kejadian mengamuk di tapak pesta Sungai Nibong, Pulau Pinang pada 1986 semasa Battle Of The Bands.
Penampilan kumpulan-kumpulan rock yang berambut panjang mencetuskan bantahan daripada masyarakat umum dan mendorong kepada pihak kerajaan menghadkan penampilan imej yang dianggap tidak sesuai daripada saluran media kerajaan bermula pada tahun 1988. Langkah ini termasuk tidak membenarkan kumpulan yang berpakaian tidak rapi atau berambut panjang ditonjolkan dalam media kerajaan seperti Radio & TV RTM, kecuali sekiranya mereka bersedia memotong rambut dan berpakaian kemas. Langkah ini dikenali sebagai digam RTM oleh masyarakat umum.
Bagaimanapun, saluran media swasta tidak dihalang daripada menyiarkan dengan kumpulan muzik ini. Ini adalah kerana kerajaan berpendapat, media kerajaan tidak seharusnya terbabit atau digunakan bagi menggalak unsur-unsur negetif. Sehubung dengan itu, media swasta seperti TV 3 menjadi saluran utama bagi pemuzik rock untuk mengasah bakat.
